Jim Carr, CEO of CC Homes, celebrates five decades in the industry

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — October 2026 — CC Homes CEO Jim Carr is marking 50 years in the homebuilding and real estate development industry, commemorating a career that has helped shape communities throughout Florida and produced tens of thousands of homes for generations of residents.

The milestone was recently celebrated during a private gathering honoring Carr’s five decades in business and the relationships, partnerships and accomplishments that have defined his career. Surrounded by family, colleagues and longtime business associates, the occasion offered an opportunity to reflect on a professional journey that began in 1976 and continues today at the helm of one of Florida’s largest privately owned homebuilders.

Carr entered the industry in 1976 when he founded Westbrooke Communities, Inc., a land development and residential homebuilding company that grew to become one of Florida’s largest and most respected builders. Westbrooke completed 101 homes during its first year and later grew to build more than 1,000 homes annually, ultimately constructing more than 15,000 homes throughout South Florida.

Following the sale of Westbrooke Communities in 1998, Carr continued as its president and CEO before forming Carr Residential I, LLC in 2001 to pursue urban infill and multifamily development opportunities throughout South Florida.

In 2007, Carr co-founded CC Homes with his longtime friend and business partner Armando Codina. Together, they established a company that has continued Carr’s tradition of developing thoughtfully planned residential communities serving a broad range of Florida homebuyers.

Beyond homebuilding, Carr has maintained a longstanding commitment to civic and philanthropic leadership. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Baptist Health South Florida and has been actively involved with the organization for approximately two decades. He and his wife, Susan Carr, are dedicated philanthropists having received the Philanthropy Award from the Coral Gables Community Foundation among other charitable recognitions.

Fifty years after beginning his career, Carr remains actively engaged in the business he built, continuing a legacy defined not only by homes and communities, but by enduring relationships and a lasting contribution to Florida’s residential landscape.
